The Giants chose to fill needs in the secondary in the first day of the draft, and with the selection of Terrell Thomas from USC, they found a physical lock-down corner who was one of the few overlooked players for the Trojans.
The knock on Thomas is that he is a frequent visitor to the infirmary, as he has sustained knee and shoulder injures that have sidelined him for stretches of games. In high school, he had a 9.3 ypc average as a running back while also doubling as a corner. Thomas gives the Giants more depth in the corner position if former high draft pick Corey Webster is unable to sustain the revitalization he found in last year's playoffs.
This pick definitely makes sense in the Steve Spagnolo defense, as Thomas is very quick on the line when blitzing.
